Global Learning & COVID-19 Update

Dear Global Learners,

As of today, FIU has transitioned to remote learning and all events have been cancelled effective through at least April 4, 2020.  In view of this change, we wanted to keep you up-to-date on the latest information pertaining to Global Learning.

Frequently Asked Questions:
I have travel plans for this spring/summer to satisfy my Capstone and/or Global Engagement Project.  What do I do?
Please let us know your travel plans here.  Alternative virtual opportunities will be shared early next week.  Please note: as per FIU, all study abroad programs for Spring and Summer 2020 have been suspended.  Until April 9, all members of the FIU community with travel plans should consider postponing or cancelling any trip that is non-essential.  We also advise students to adhere to the U.S. State Dept. guidelines on international travel.

Are Global Learning events still happening?
All in-person events have been cancelled effective now through at least April 4, 2020.  In the meantime, we are working on alternative ways to bring you TTR and other online point opportunities!  More information will be shared early next week.

Can I still meet with Global Learning staff?
Yes.  All face-to-face meetings will now occur virtually or by phone.  If you need to schedule an appointment with Yeni Simon, click here or Florencia Dominguez, click here.

Where can I find FIU updates on the coronavirus?
